I want to remove my gov. springs that are attached to the carb. How will this affect my engine? As long as i dont mess with gears in the engine case, will the engine rpms still be governed?

Not a chance. Springs are an integral part of gov. Everything is there for a GOOD reason.

If you want to get rid of the governor, do it the right way. It doesn't take long and there is plenty of how-to info on this site.

Pull 'em off and find out!

Springs are an integral part of gov. Everything is there for a GOOD reason.

This about covers it. Without ALL parts intact and properly adjusted, the system will not work. Either leave it be, or remove the entire system.
