The 420 will need motor mounts the "footprint" base of the motor is bigger than what some would run that & a 1" clutch or whatever u choose to run.Everything else is pretty much the same. I have one im putting on a racing frame..& welcome to the forum.

actually my 420cc is slotted so that it bolts up to a smaller mounting plate for 6-6.5hp engines.
however the chain alignment was off so I have to move my mounting plate over.

So update on go kart, all forged parts be in soon plus mild cam, with rhb31 turbo. Will be bolted on clipped so it should be good

Where did you find the internals? 390 parts such as a cam will not fit in a 420.
Not to crush your dreams on the turbo either but with these engines the power to weight ratio for a turbo is ineffective meaning it will work and be cool but you won't get a largely noticeable increase in power.

If you are doing a cam/head combo with an aftermarket carb & exhaust, spend the money on a 44 series driver and driven clutch. The 40 series is only rated to 18 hp and you may exceed that with your list of goodies. I have had my 420 predator for over a year and a half, and have had ZERO problems with it. One thing though, unplug the low oil sensor on the front of the block. It kills the engine in a sharp turn.

For that reason I'm going to run a snomo CVT. They're cheaper, can hold up to any power and easily adjusted. You'll need an adapter for the shaft, look for my thread on my yerf dog and it should be in there i think pg. 2.

Well they rev up a lot higher so if you build it up to rev higher and then gear it properly I don't see why it wouldn't work. After all my minibike that revs up to around 6000rpm hits 50mph. :) good luck getting it street legal.
