Predator 301 piston rings?

Where do I find them?
80mm piston.


Master hack... looking at you Mr. Hopped up 301.

My rod clanks so I'm getting a billet one finally. But I can't put these rings back in.
.040 is the max gap and what I have on the feelers.

This says 80mm and looks like Honda GX / Clone style rings, even though it says TRX300

Bob, i think those listed for the trx300 arent really 80mm. Something doesn't sit well with that. Every where I look the trx300 was listed as a 74mm.

I did find a Polaris rzr 800 had 2 80mm pistons. I can't find any info if they are 1.2mm thick or 1.5mm.

Gonna call some places tomorrow and see.

What I found…. Not sure about thickness though. I didn’t even know common thicknesses were 1.2 and 1.5 mm.

Could swap pistons i supposed. But what's the pin height and skirt length?

I see NR has this for a gx270 which i believe is 80mm.



Adding that .015 might run into my valves. Ive taken .040 off the head but i dont remember my final PtV clearance.

what diameter is the wrist pin? Will it match to what I have? The 301 had different size for hemi (18mm) and wedge head (15mm)

I was looking at the gx240 / gx270 and I don’t think it said 80mm for either, but the info was suspect anyway since it gave the exact same bore and stroke for the 240 and 270 which upset me. Lol

After a month working in retail… if all else fails do what everyone else does…. Buy a new 301cc, remove the rings, return the engine saying no compression / doesn’t start.
It seems to be common for customers to just steal what they want and return the rest, or a different tool, or a rock, or stuff from the side of the road.

Went in for some spark plugs for my bike. It was getting a little hard to start. Mag fired kick only. Had a few old ones in my bag but didn't have any clean ones.

Told the guy I need two j12yc plugs.
What make and model?

I still have to look it up to know what shelf....

Right about now the Home Depot returns desk is busy processing all the Christmas decorations that "don't fit".
