Yes. Exhaust not as much but yes on the air filter. Screws up air fuel mixture.

Stock can not flow as good as needed for the extra fuel you are now dumping in the motor. Choke is just totally flooding the motor out right now.

Or idle for that matter. Crank it and go! It was explained to me that you can actually be flooding it enough that at idle you will have gas leaking into crank case oil. Racers measure oil going in and coming out of crank case to help judge there fuel mixture as well. I really recommend going ahead and putting rest of your stuff on first though. Doesn't take but a few minutes.

Seperate note, what does that bottom piece in the attached picture do? The two sides metal piece (it comes with a small plastic screw also). It came with my air filter setup

That flat piece screws on to the back of the adapter and the hole in the bracket lays on the choke lever holding it down. Other wise the grey plastic choke lever will fall off because it just lifts off. I can send you a pic later or google predator high flow air filter and I am sure a pic will show up to give you an idea.

Thanks, and one last thing. I got a new one of these, but the originals seem fine. Why does it need changing? And please send me a pic !

I will send it to you this evening when I get home.

Some motors need the longer stud some does not. Mine did not, I used the factory studs as is. You don't have to use it if you don't want to.

You can cut it shorter just don't close it off. I am not 100% sure but I think your cap isn't vented where the old ones were, hence the hose vent.

I googled real quick "predator 212 air filter images" and several popped up if your still needing reference bid not good job!

Yep, how you have it is fine.

Side note, use wd40 or actual k and n air filter oil and put a light coat on your filter. Just like you would for a k&n on a car. Helps collect dirt without restricting air flow.

Your more than welcome! That's what we are here for!

Oh, one thing before serious play, put a small filter(a fuel filter works) on the valve cover breather tube. Keeps dirt and other crap out of the motor.
