Hey so im building a go kart (having a guy at a metalworks place build a custom frame) its gonna be used mostly on street and track but then i have different parts for offroading but my question is

what sprocket ratio should i have if i want medium acceleration and good top speeds ( so what sprocket will i need on the axle and the clutch

Without knowing the tire diameter and overall wet weight of the kart and driver, I'd say the ratio you need is in the neighborhood of something to one.

300-350 pound kart weight with driver. 15" tall tires max and geared 6:1. Meaning a 12 tooth clutch and 72 tooth axle gear.
