Predator 212 won’t start no matter what I do

I’ve recently started a mini bike build with a predator 212 (non hemi). I’ve installed a mikuni clone carb, and I also removed the governor. I am relatively inexperienced with these engines, and I have no idea why it isn’t starting. Some things I have done to trouble shoot it are: Disconnecting low oil sensor, put a bigger jet in the carb (120), checked cam timing, checked for spark, checked for compression, and removed the muffler for more airflow. I have a hunch that it is something with the carb, but I honestly have no idea. I am very frustrated because I have put this same exact carb kit on a predator 212 and it ran perfectly with no tweaks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Try your original carb, then work from there. If it works, then you know the mikuni clone carb is the problem. It wouldn't be the first time a mikuni clone has stopped a predator from running.

Is the engine new? Did you ever see it run? I'm with BBR. Put the stock carb back on until you get it running. Then go from there.

Stock carbs with governors and stock throttle linkages keep the throttle cracked opened while starting.

When switching to an aftermarket carb with no governor and new throttle linkages, you have to crack the throttle slightly on your own when starting.

Perhaps this is obvious? Or maybe not? It took me a few goes to realize I need to crack the throttle open like 1/8th of the way or so when starting up the engine with aftermarket carb.

Probably not your issue, but worth mentioning.
