Predator 212 stage1 upgrade w less noise?

I am considering a stage 1 upgrade to my Predator 212, intake, jet and header exhaust but I need it to run with less noise (cops and neighbors) is it possible to add a muffler or suppressor of some type to a header and still provide the exhaust flow needed??

Gopowersports sells a stage 1 kit with a muffler I believe.

I suggest a header from ombwarehouse with spin on "briggs 8hp" muffler.
Way quieter than gopowersports header with rlv muffler.

Me and my buddy have the exact same Carter live axle single seater kart with same predator 212 hemi, same clutch, same sprocket, same wheels/tires. Same air filter/adapter. Same spark plug. Same everything. Except his has a gopowersports header with clamp on rlv muffler and mine has a ombwarehouse ct200 minibike header with spin on briggs muffler. Mine is noticeably quieter and a hair faster than his.

if you get the stage 1 kit with the header that is just one diameter of tubing it is going to be ~ a 1" OD end. This will allow you to fit any 25mm ID muffler on it or 1" ID muffler on it. If you want SUPER quiet and still have the flow, you can snag a honda grom muffler on ebay for about $60 It literally just bolts onto the end. It is kind of big, yes, but it works. I am putting one on my nephews mini bike and it fits perfect with welding on a bracket or two to secure the muffler.

Thanks for the details and great comparison! I saw the OMB stage 1 kit after I placed the GPS order and also thought the less expensive OMB muffler would be more restrictive that the GPS performance muffler... I fell for the marketing and paid as much for the muffler as I did for the stage 1 kit... guess I will give it a try and hope its not too loud.

The weenie pipe is a joke. Its louder than the standard muffler and just about as restrictive. You can get about 1 hp more out of the open header with the RLV muffler. I wish those mufflers were cheaper, but they are expensive everywhere. They are better than the bigger chinese mufflers you see plastered all over ebay/amazon. I haven't been able to find anything that is really quiet that doesn't cost a lot more. The only economical option in my opinion is a slightly used dirt bike muffler.

I'm not talking about the tiny akra (or whatever) legal weenie pipe with the small screw on muffler. They have other headers with a larger diameter and a larger screw on muffler. And much quieter than the rlv muffler.

Go to a motorbike wreckers and get a stock muffler off a small dirtbike or similar. Weld up and adaptor, should look pretty neat as well.
