The situation is that I bought an aftermarket air speed adapter and an aftermarket filter, and when I put it on it the cart wants to not rev out. Does anyone know if there is an adjustment that needs to be made with the carb? Thanks.

...or, at the very least, adjust the mixture (if possible).

The engine is now being fed a LOT more air than it was, you need to add more fuel to compensate...

... I see no mention of 'exhaust'? Factory? straight?

And yes also larger jets... too much air... not enough fuel n exhaust?... maybe?

The exaust is factory. I messed with the big plastic Phillips head screw on the carb and it got better but I didn't have a whole lot of time to mess with it. Would re jetting the carb be nessesary for such a simple mod as an air filter?

You have to let the engine tell you what it needs. Not all engines are the same. If you make it breath moe, you might just have to rejet. Do a plug reading and see what colour the ceramic tip of the plug is

Gotcha thanks. The only thing that's got me wondering is that the idle screw if I'm not mistaken is the small one on the opposite side covered by the small piece of plastic. I'm not sure tho.

If you were to rejet what size main jet do you guys think would work best? I was thinking of doing the same upgrade and was thinking the main jet should be replaced to 0.0354". What do you think and why?

It is not so clear cut as that. AFAIK you need to do a plug check, to see where it is at, then go up a size in jet, check again, up a size(if needed) and plug check ect. till it runs right and the plug checks good.

Ok thanks guys. The diagram was helpful. I'm gonna get a few jets and see what I got. One of my buddies that races actually drills his jets. Anyone else do this?

By the way a simple way to open up your exhaust and let ur motor "exhale" a little better is to remove the spark arrestor. Remove the muffler cover(one screw on top two on the side next to the air box). The little screen on the exhaust is tack welded on each side, just grind off the two little tabs and itll fall right off. That screen will restrict probably close to half of your exhaust flow.

I'm happy to report that a header pipe and drilling out the jet worked perfectly. It runs great and the plug check is the dry chocolate brown color. Thanks for the help everyone!
