Hello, I’m new here and made this account to ask this question, as I haven’t been able to find an answer anywhere else. I bought a yerf-dog go kart from a guy on marketplace, and it came with a predator 212 (non-hemi). I have not been able to start this thing and I’ve tried everything I know. I checked fuel, spark, cleaned air intake and carb, checked kill switch, and the thing just won’t start. The kart came with a mini bike with the same engine, and it runs just fine. I don’t really know what else to do, and I don’t fully know what I’m doing. Any help with this would be absolutely amazing.

The either too much gas... (Wrong jets ) . not enough or compression. which means adjust the valves.......starting fluid, if you have all other things correct starting fluid should provide the extra oomph to get a start. could flywheel issue. like the key is missing and the flywheel is not solidly positioned. That would affect timing.

I believe like redflash said try some starting fluid. If it runs for a short moment, then maybe we can help from there. Also you could take the carb. bowl off and make sure the jet and etube are not clock.
I'm sure you probably check, that the gas on/off is turned on.

Try pouring a capful of motor oil in the cylinder then trying to start it. Sometimes this will seal the rings enough to boost the compression and allow it to fire. Is the plug new? Sometimes a plug will look okay and still be bad. When you checked for spark did you leave the plug wire on, ground the plug and verify a strong, blue spark? If you have good compression and good spark, it should at least pop or puff out of the exhaust when you give it a short blast of starting fluid in the cylinder.
