After removing the governor of my Predator 212 the cam shift fell out and now the flywheel locks up. I aligned the dots on the cam. The pushrods didn't fall out of it so I just but the cam back. Do I have to do something else with timing etc?

Is the compression release on the cam working? Are the pushrods fully seated? Is the lash adjusted properly for the valves? Did the engine even run before you monkeyed with it?

I'm not saying this is true in your case,.... but people are known to have accidently left some
lose parts behind after removing the gov. and putting the side cover back on.
Causing parts to jam things up on the inside.
Ther are a few tiny washers that can get left behind.

......................................................and is the spark plug screwed in, causing compression in the cylinder? Even just finger-tight will do it.
Did you remove the flywheel to punch the governor gear's pin into the block (the easy way), or did you just fight with all your might to remove it from the crankcase side? Either way, there should be 3 washers about 1/4" wide that have to come out. Fish all around in the crankcase and the components with a small telescoping magnet to find them (if missing any). Watch RBG video below, starting at the 5:30 mark to see where those washers are (and he did it the hard way, from the inside)......................

So the governor wasn't actually removed. After the cam fell out I set the crankcase panel back on it and dint mess with it. I shouldn't of said after the governor was removed thats my fault.

I'm sorry I shouldn't of said after I removed the governor since I never removed it. So there isn't much of a chance something like that is loose.

Nothing at all uncommon in my world to have the timing marks lined up, put the sidecover back on, and then pull it back to see the marks are no longer lined up. Did it several times before learning to lay the motor over on its flywheel side to set timing marks and put the sidecover back on. Maybe that was all, but..............
I also had removed the valve springs to put in 22#'ers, so I was able to push the lifters up to max rise, and they stay there without the springs to push them back down against the cam. If that was the saving grace, it comes from figuring out that.................
Rotating the motor guts so that neither one of the cam lobes is pushing up on the lifters when the timing marks line up leaves the lifters only pushing down on the cam with a small amount of spring pressure. Easier to keep cam in place while putting sidecover on. No gravity added to the equation of the free end of the camshaft trying to drop down (like when sitting up straight) while you try to get the free end into its sidecover bearing surface without getting the marks out of whack.
That and still though, nothing as helpful as the lifters staying up out of the way when valve spring keepers are temporarily removed. Also, motor on its side, unsprung lifters won't try to fall down by gravity.

When the timing marks were lined up ut was on its fly wheel side.

You know once I dropped a small bolt (unknowingly) behind the flywheel cover. I could not
pull the cord to start the motor, it was locked up.
After pulling the cover off and inspecting I found the little bolt stuck to the magnet on the
flywheel. Wala..... problem solved.
Something to consider.

I took the flywheel off and checked the magnet. Nothing there, not sure what the issue is

Sometimes you have to drain the oil pull the side cover off and do a little inspection.
I have done this more times than I care to talk about, but I was able to solve a few
problems that way,

How can I detect and fix this?
Once you remove the 4 small bolts on the valve cover and twist it out of your way, if the pushrods are no longer seated under the rocker arms you will know it because you'll be able to just flick them around all loose and sloppy in there. NOTE: Adding a link below to a pack of valve cover gaskets for my hemi 212's. You must know whether you have a hemi or non-hemi to get correct gaskets.

Ok so I just took the cover off and the rockers arms are sloppy. Is that the problem?

Take a pic from the side looking at rockers and valves.
Could definitely cause resistance. Does yours come to a solid will not turn anymore or feel like compression when not supposed to be.

Sorry not completely sure what those are but I'm pretty sure they're these. The metal "cover" pieces are completely loose.
