predator 212cc performance parts

pedroza,

here are a few links, might wanna check ebay too. I made my own exhaust/intake adaptor, but you can sometimes buy the performance parts in kits.

212cc predator high flow intake and header

jet and emulsion tube kit

and heres a video on how to change the jet and emulsion tube.

also, you will need a direct throttle kit if you want to remove the governor (which i suggest you do)

also a tachometer would be nice to keep it below 5500 rpms so you dont risk throwing the connecting rod.

All together you should sit around $100-$150 for all these performance parts.

who cares if you wear it out? I dont think you will anytime soon as its just for a go kart for putting around right? If you even do wear it out (which will take a while) the parts are plentiful/cheap to replace.

I've heard you wear out your engine prematurely when you do this
This may or may not be true. Depends on loading and how hard engine is pushed.

If you start your car and decide to hold the gas pedal to the floor (transmission in neutral), how long will engine last? And yet it has not been modified in any way.

Any engines natural state is to be ungoverned. Typical automobiles, aircraft, motorcycles, boats, etc., are not governed. Why should a kart be different?

How does this prevent premature wearing out? It doesn't!
If you want the engine to last a long time, don't do anything to it.
Where's the fun in that?

Check out OMBWarehouse.com. They have a kit for under $100 that there is no need to mess with the governor. It has the intake filter with choke hold adapter, high flow exhaust, fuel jet(s), E-tube, 18lbs valve springs, and timing key. That should put you well beyond 8hp... I read a few things online that suggest it may even raise the HP to around 9.5hp. I personal can feel the difference in mine and believe that's more than possible.

Do NOT use the 18lbs valve springs with the rest of the kit. Unless you use a billet rod, do NOT install the 18lbs springs. You will likely have a catastrophic failure.

Otherwise the parts are all good

:iagree:
I never understood why they include the springs in their stage 1 & 2 kits. :surrender:

The heavy springs are fine to use with the governor installed & operational, it's when you remove the governor that you need a billet conrod...

If you read their tutorial, they mention leaving the governor intact...
