Maybe they are using something finer? But actually..once you get past fine..good old fashioned Ajax or any polishing compound is about the only thing finer.

I haven't done it either...but it's fascinating to me because it would allow infinite timing adjustment.

Do you know anybody who has lapped their flywheel and run without a key?

Yes I have, works as well but the grit paste ( what ever its called ) is dificult to find l

I may be wrong but I haven't lapped my flywheel so I haven't had to ask, just by what I was told from the guys lthat I race with its near impossible to find

Very true! I might have to lap my flywheel lol

Well Have you or havent you?

So I got a new 8 degree timing key and 18ln valve springs today with this stage 1 kit. I don't believe I can do anything with those two items Til I upgrade rod and cam correct ? I'm sorry if it seems I'm asking same thing over and over. I'm read so much this past week my brain is just flustered with info and can't put it all together yet lmao

From my understanding , I can't advance the timing without a new cam that matches said timing, which would be 32 degrees with 8 degree key correct ? And I can't put in new springs, without a rod that can handle higher Rpms? Correct me if I'm wrong

Many people put the 8* advanced key in with the stage 1 mods. Air Filter, Eshaust pipe, E-tube, main carb jet.

The 8 degree key should work to make HP, even without a new cam.

If you do springs, the consensus is to get a billet connecting rod that will handle the RPMs allowed by stiffer springs.
