Most all small engine carbs with an adjustable main I've ever dealt with have an adjusting screw (like a holley idle mix screw) sticking out of the bottom of the float bowl, except for the old Briggs "Flo-Jet" carbs where it goes up into the updraft carb body at a 45* angle. Check out http://outdoorpowerinfo.com/repairs/tecumseh_carb_632107.asp for pics of the Series 1 Tec carbs, they'll id the main adjusting screw in pics 2 and 3.
I added an adjustable main to my Briggs carb, pics/details in this thread. If it's a float-bowl carb with the main jet in the center (not in the side of the "tower" like in some EPA Briggs carbs) and you've got the room, you oughta be able to diy one for yourself as well, I'd think.
