Todd is doing skipball on those 5205
using skip balls on those 202’s also
Yes if l understood him correctly. He's been using 5202, that have been given the "hack treatment" a couple of seasons.
The 202's you are referring to are 6202, those are single row radial bearings.
Those have only8 balls, taking 4 out won't work! They would fall apart before ya could install em.
Now that l gave away the guys speed secret.....
So, why and how are we discussing boat bearings on a kart forum?
You probably know Fred Hauenstien, also? I'm sure l misspelled his name.

Been a long time getting back to this. Had a few squirrel moments. Yes know of Fred and all those guys. Question, how long do you think the bearing would last with half as many? I asked an engineer and he could give a definitive answer, you figure the manufacturer is using it for a reason, most likely longevity. Has Todd had any bearing failures? Those pro outboard motors are turning 12k+ but outboard motors have a rpm/torque inverse relationship, rpm goes up torque goes down so how significant is bearing stress if it is going down? How often is Todd changing those bearings out? I’d hate to granade the motor because these days we aren’t racing for anything at all, would be a significant amount of money down the drain in a powerhead. Does the juice justify the squeeze? Why are we discussing this? You have bearings in everything, not just boat engines. The motorcycle guys talk a lot about them and I also know kart guys do too. Everyone is looking for an edge.
