Hey guys,

I have one of these:

http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200356855_200356855

And I put one of these on it:

http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200377914_200377914

It works like a charm. Starts on the first pull every time, 0-30 in around 10 seconds (max speed) and I can get it to do burnouts and wheelies (depending on the surface...burnouts on the grass/dirt, wheelies on concrete/asphalt)

My only complaint is that if I go over a bump too fast or if I turn right (even slowly) the engine will quit. Does anyone have an idea why this is? I've tried messing with the idle speed, but no avail.

the low oil sensor is probably the problem. when the oil moves over to one side of the engine it will shut down.

cut the wire that comes out of the shiny silver hex nut in the front of the engine, it will be fixed.

I agree. However disconnecting will do fine. The wire on mine was yellow.
Can we sticky this?

:iagree:
I'll second that diagnosis. Disconnect the sensor- you probably don't have to cut it, it should unplug. Make SURE you have enough of the correct oil, and go drive the he// out of it. Report the results.

Awesome! Thanks Bluethunder :)

No complaints any more :D

Edit: Too cold to drive it like a nut. I'll bust it out next spring. Just good to know that it all works before I winterize it ;)

Just double check the oil level- I re-read your original post and you said it quits even on a low speed turn. If it IS your sensor, it's trying to tell you something.

And if you DO run sensor-less, you have to be religious about checking your oil. Remember- with the kart parked on a level surface, the oil should come all the way up to the edge of the fill port. If yours uses a dipstick, do NOT screw the dipstick in to check the level.

Too cold to drive it like a nut. I'll bust it out next spring.
Wimp! :roflol:

Thanks for pointing that out- That's something I'll have to do next spring too is change the oil. I've only got a few hours on the engine but changing the oil seems like a good idea.

Yeah, I can be a wimp until my blood thickens up for the winter. I'll probably be feeling brave in late December-mid January and pull off the tarp and throw some high octane in the gas tank. Should be a fun ride.

Now my only complaint is that it's too cramped for two people my size in there!!! ;)

we dont mean only change the oil, you have to make sure there is enough in to go all the way to the top of the port, like toystory said.

low oil is worse than bad oil.

Yeah, I meant that I'd make sure to check the oil every time I ride too. But it'd probably be a good idea to change the oil anyways, since I haven't drained the factory oil and replaced it yet.
