are you also an owner of a Lincoln electric weld-pak HD? if so do you have flux core, or mig version? there is a way to fix the steering, but i don't know exactly what it iis, someone here dose, the usual method for fixing the steering may not work on such a small vehicle though.

It's a little complicated maybe, but would two sprockets the same size, one on the pole coming up from the steering and on on the pole coming from the steering wheel and a chain (obviously) to link them up, mounted to one side, work?

I've seen it done before in larger vehicles, it may be too fiddly for such a small thing, but that's what I'd look into if it were me. There may be a much better simpler way, just...

Yeah. :roflol:

my suggestion would be long right-hand tie-rod and short left-hand tie-rod, no clue if or how that will affect your steering geometry

WOOO. Its actually coming together. I kind of have a rolling chassis. I do not have the suspension yet to the front does not say up on it's own. I started mounting the motor box. I should have it all mounted by Tuesday I think. There is something wrong with the front A-arms. They just don't look level. It will still work but it bugs the crap out of me. If I have two 12 volt batteries What kind of switches do I need for the revers toggle.

I got the motor and components mounted. I re mounted the a-arms mounted as far forward as I could get them. they still look lopsided though. O well. I know have to try and figure out the steering system. What type of switch do I need for the revers/forward if I have two 12 volt batteries?.

its called double pole, double throw i believe. or DPDT

oh also, i think you may need some sort of back plate to keep the belt from coming off the rear sprocket unless they are perfectly aligned.

Could you do an angled steering shaft coming to the driver with a pitman arm mounted at a counteracting angle so that when the wheel is turned it rotates as it would normally? Or the different length tie rods. That shouldn't mess up the geometry IIRC. Just calculate proper ackerman and use two different rod lengths.

Almost done!!!!

Ok. The steering is almost done. I have to secure it a little more so that is responds better and then all i have is the motor. The problem i am having is that the razor e100 scooter only starts if you push first while pressing the excel orator. Obviously that wont work with a power wheel unless it's flinstones style. Can i just take out the controller and some how directly hook up the wires so that i have a revers switch and can still charge it or will taking out the controller jack everything up? Help, this is all i need to make it work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I am almost done with motor. I finaly figured out the wiring. Stupid question, I know but when I turn the wheel left it turns right when I turn right it turns left. What would be the best AND EASYEDT way to fix it? It is hadr enough for my 2 1/2 year old to grasp the consept of steering. I want him to learn it and not have to adapt later on when I make a bigger kart. HELP!!!!!!
