power supply connection

hi everyone, i am in a bit of a dilemma and i was wondering if i can ask the help of the community.

i acquired an electric scooter that i plan to gut for parts for creating a 2nd electric gokart or modifying my existing one. However, the power supply cord was cut and i don't know which end connects to which.

I have two parts right now:
-end female end of the plug with the 3 input ports 1, 2, and 3.
-the connector that goes to the controller to feed it with power, with two cords, a red and a black.

anyone have any idea where the red and black wires connect on the female end of the plug? the plus has 3 ports, but i assume the #3 one is the ground wire that i don't need to do anything with.
So is 1 =red and 2=black or vice versa.

what's the risk if i put them incorrectly?

If you have the charger and a voltmeter you can just see which one is positive and which is negative. More than likely #1 is red and #3 is black but dont just take my word for it.
And as far as doing it wrong will burn up the battery or charger.

thanks ML-TOYS. would the positive connection show a positive voltage and the negative connection show a negative voltage?

i hope the manufacturer kept the standard of the red wire being the positive one

Plug in charger and plug it to your connecting plug. Now on your meter put the red lead to pin 1 and black to pin 3, if the meter shows a negative number then its the opposite.
