we are 110 km otta town so we usually lose power every week or so

i experienced the brown outs in the Solaman islands exept they weren't rotating the regons
because the hole "county" is just islands every island had to have its our desiel generator and they couldnt afford to run it all day so they got from 6pm to 10pm

in dominican republic the power goes out about 2 times a day. I dont live there but both my parents are Dominican (Born and raised) So we try to go every summer to visit our grandparents and aunts and uncles etc. And we chill in the ghetto parts which is like daily life and there is so much of a difference between what people see in resorts, and what you see inside the city. Its cool though its almost like a little escape from reality and it makes me value more what people take for granted here in the US. INcluding me.

I live out in the woods, in Arkansas, we lose power a lot,
few times a month, it's normally out a few hours, but a few
years back, there was an ice storm and we had no power
for three months.

We have one store bought generator, one homemade
generator, an inverter with wires that can run out to
a car or truck, a large 12v battery in the house, and
gas heat and stove.

Will, just out of curiosity, is there a reason why your posts are always so narrow? As for power outtages, mine usually goes out a few hours after a storm since we have underground power and that's when the water seeps in.

Never noticed that:roflol:

We used to have at least 3 or 4 outages a summer but I guess they fixed something right for once.

Just an odd habit of mine, I try to keep the text formatted for
the text window that I type into.
