Laugh all you want but any one of those homemade gats appear to be made out of steel and not the die cast metal, zinc or Zamak of the “legit” Lorcin/Raven/Jennings manufactured "Saturday Night Specials”. I’d be proud to use one of the ones Partsguy showed.

I am not into guns but if I ever hit a big lotto ticket (I scratch one here or there) I would love to pay huge sums of money to specifically collect seized home made firearms from other countries. ONLY ones like in the first picture though. Ones that look factory made and probably are reliable look like art!


I don’t even believe it would be possible to start a collection such as that though as there is no serial numbers so I’m betting most of these are destroyed after being seized.

You could always try rolling your own, but keep it in the house. Taking them out in public to play is how they get siezed.

Correct Hellion. It was one I got probably around 2005ish when they were like $89 at Dunhams. Picked up 4 of them and 2 were in really good condition, a 2 were pretty bad.

This one had a beat to hell stock and some decent pitting on the barrel. Gave it all a good cleaning and polished the bolt. Then I ended up making it what it is.

It’s that other T state, boy! We got’s ‘em here now and hory shet, whatta place. Cheap gas and the brisket is to die for (almost).

We got to get Partsguy a pump shotgun at least. For a guy that does explosions in bores to not do the other explosions in a bore... it just ain’t right!

I just am not interested in gun I guess but dang you gotta be mad to not admire the human mind and it's capabilities to have an infinite amount of ideas of how something should look and be crafted.

A small portion of it is genuine ART and some of it’s so bad it‘s almost art in itself Edit: someone has DAYS maybe months of work on that sub. Possibly YEARS OF WORK. If you’re building crap like that in a shack in Brazil I imagine the r&d is testfire it and if it doesn’t explode on you good work?

It directly stems from being 15 years old and getting handed the junkiest 12 gauge you have ever seen.

These people knew it fired at random sometimes when clicking a shell forward and still handed it to me. I put a shell in slid it forward and it blasted about out of my hands


This happened about three seconds after a kid even younger than me WALKED RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.. anxiety attacks about blowing that kids legs off point blank. I though I was gonna get a whoopin but the kids dad lit the kid who walked in front of me up. I think they realized I wasn’t in the wrong there thankfully so it was the kid walking in front of gun barrels that got the a** whoopin.. (it all happened quick)

It’s kind of like ya know if your gonna teach a kid how to ride a dirtbike a Cr500 with an extra sticky throttle is a great way to make sure he enjoys his first time out

BB and pellet guns first, then by age 5 shooting a .22lr. 12 gauge by 12. Family were all hunters and had property up north. Bought my first firearm on my 18th birthday and had my CPL at 21. Rem Express 12 gauge. Still get turkey with the same gun. I take range time very serious and especially with a new shooter. Teaching new shooters the basics and common sense rules from the get go is very important. No chance to learn bad habits. I'm no saint, I've learned some lessons the hard way along the way. Scope eye, powder burns, hammer bite, etc...

If I peppered the kid in the legs point black with bird shot at 15 years old I’d probably still be setting in a jail. Or I don’t know but I can guarantee I would not be living the same normal (mostly) life I live now. Thank you for taking stuff seriously by the way you just don’t ruin a kids first time out.

Thats a horrible first experience.
And a slam fire shotgun should be taken out of service or fixed. Thats just plain stupidity.
I was also raised from a small age with firearms. Had a 410 shotgun under the tree at 8. I still have it.
Ive told people at the range that had bad muzzle manners to leave. If they dont straighten up or leave, I leave. Not worth someone's stupidity.

So a few things about that Kentucky Ballistics rifle exploding. One, he was using SLAP rounds that came from a dubious source. They had actually been tampered with and were loaded with what most agree with, was pistol powder and to a similar amount that what was in it originally. The nature of pistol powder, had allowed chamber pressures to exceed, well beyond the safety margin that Mark Serbu had built into the RN-50. Normal .50 BMG ammo is usually at around 55,000 PSI.

That last SLAP round was probably 4x that pressure. I think Mark said the safety margin was a proof load over 90,000 PSI, which under 99.99% of the time is more than enough. This was not an engineering or manufacturing error of the rifle, but that ammo had been tampered with. Scott (Kentucky Ballistics) didn't know that they had been messed with. But now he is was more cautious on where he gets his specialty ammo from. As are a lot more of these gun channels.

Okay not rickety old shotguns, or shotguns at all unless maybe 20 gauge. Was just thinking that the shotgun was one of the most innocuous firearms to own (especially in a wooden Fudd stock and no tactical laser mounted). Also one of the most versatile. Shot, slugs, sabots.

A 12 gauge is a punisher!

I always liked 12 ga. I bought a couple of single shot 20 ga for my son and me for Christmas last year. He is 12 and he loves his Stevens 301. His stock is a couple inches shorter than mine, but I have to say, for the reduced recoil, there is still a whole lot of destruction downrange. I have a hard time lining up the "sights" because they are so low and the stock is pretty straight, but my wife loves it, so we can all shoot if I bring out my 12 ga pump. !2 gauge can be a punisher on both ends.

Never figured Partsguy was gun shy. Might hafta revoke his man card (temporarily) . Millions of people have nary an issue with the blammo, it’s just the 0.00001% that film themselves getting blown up and then post it to U-tewb that causes some issues.
