has anyone ever thought about bolting on some quad tires to a shifter kart so you can switch between road and off road with one savage kart?

The gear ratios would be way out of whack and probably damage the clutch or motor.

i think the off road conditions would snap a race frame like a twig, don't they bend just sitting in them?

Taller tires would contact the frame while turning on many of the shifter frames and there's usually only a small amount of clearance between the R-R tire and the side mounted Engine. But if you off-set the wheels outward and re-geared you could make it work.

reinforcing the frame, braces ect. you might manage a packed dirt road with some mods to the frame, but if you wan't to do anything that is actually considered off road riding, its gonna be basically a whole new kart. but then it would be horrid on the track. it will be especially tough because without suspension that frame will have to absorb everything.

right but i dont plan on jumping at all mostly muddin and dirt roads but wat if i built the frame out of different metal material a tougher tubing and than some braces and reinforcments it should handle like anyother normal kart

well if your making a kart it will be easier, but making one that is on road/off road will most likely be not great at both, can't go off jumps, can't take it to the track, you can sure try if you wan't i'm sure you'l end up with something good. but my suggestion (what toy story said is true) is decide which you like most/be able to use most often.

well off road cuss i dont have a track around here so 90% off road 20% on road ill gear it different and being on road wont be taking turns at fast speeds. what metal should i use to make the frame sturdy enough

110% driving, that's what we like to see :roflol:

I'd make an off-road kart, since an off-road kart can easily manage on-road, but a road kart can't do off-road.

I'd use 40x40x1.6 or 40x40x2.0 if you don't feel comfortable welding 1.6 tubing. Square tube is probably easier to fabricate, but round tube will be lighter/stronger if you use the right size tubing.

Also, I think you should make your own topic for this, this one is supposed to be for posting pics of karts (I think)
To get back on topic, here's a pic of mine when it was nearly ready for the first test drive:
