Hey guys, I found this odyssey rolling chassis on craigslist. http://providence.craigslist.org/mcy/3436510082.html and I aldo found this http://providence.craigslist.org/bar/3405231419.html.

I had the guy with the lifan engne send m w picture and its a commercial kwrt with a lifan 140 shifter engine all mouned up and working. Its an ugly ksrt though. Lol

So I was thinking get the ody, get the other kart, put the whole shifter engine setup on the ody and just put a bucket seat on it with a harness. Test it out and then give it a coat of psint and be done with it.

Then make my money back by fixing a clone enginr I have and putting it on the other kart then sell it. That way I have a manual ody for less than 100.

My concrnz, how can I hook up hst engine to theexisting ody rear axle, and one that's all set is 140cc powerful enough to get me going around 40 on that ody in an odffroad environment with torque in low gears???

Thanks

u are takeing a kart made for 250cc and down gradeing the power alot

that ody frame is trashed
and the lifan engines really aint that great

if i was u id wait for a decent $240 progect to turn up

u will require either some machined parts or a new rear axle to matxh up a lifan and an ody

If you buy an ody engine make sure you get the cdi parts. If not add another $300 just for them. I seen guys weld sprockets onto the ody trans but I have no pics on how they do it. You will need a caliper as well to have good breaks.

The ody trans is 10 to 1 reduction.

For what you said I would pass. Just to much missing IMO. You can find complete basket cases for under $300 and $200.

Here is running one complete for $400 in Davenport. Is that close? I have good tanks..... This ody is in pretty good condition. The roll bars looks straight and not beat up on the rear end bumper area. Cant see the front bumper and skid pan. Those will tell you more if it beat up. But from what I can see it looks great. Fenders always get broke like that but rears look good. Offer him $300 ASAP. He said firm but you never know. How long has it been listed could change that....

Keep looking. Once you go thru an Ody they will run another 30 years.......
