possible mini bike build, but out of weird materials

im thinking about building a mini bike, just something small to play with as i save money for my baja. i can find a motor but im looking to build the frame ( not worried about handle bars, or tires, or brakes) out of shopping carts. it dosent need to be big, but it needs to be able to support me ( 80 pounds, but little brother is 105, so 110) and it needs to be somewhat comfortable. im looking for it to be bolted together, and all the cutting can be done with my angle grinder. Any ideas? i have no frame design idea right now, but i really want to do this

why dont you just plop the engine in the shopping kart, beef up the wheels and axle, and fly around the grocery store?

seriously, you could try that.

Anyways, I guess you could use the bottom supports from the shopping cart as part of your frame. It probably wont be strong enough to handle the forces and torque that you will be exerting on it.

lol space, i gotta have the comfort as im about 5'4. and i want another mini bike. i dont think theyll let gas motors through walmart tho. im not thinking of the bottom supports, think like the handle and basic outline of the frame.so it would be thicker stuff. I would go for a kart, but finding a place to put the motor would be harder, and i dont have a thing for kart steering and have no idea how i would set it up, im looking for like a 20 dollar build ( shopping carts are free)

well, I dont think I can help you much more, but I do wish you the best of luck.

I know you are looking for bolt together and just angle grinding but I think you might have to do some pipe bending/cutting/welding to make it all fit together like a mini bike.

If you do go through with this build though, I am sure it will be very interesting!

ok first off, 5 4 is not big, my mom is 5 4. i'm 5 10 and i dont consider myself big, fit plenty of small karts.
second, how is finding a place for the motor harder on a kart? a minibike is smaller, is less two wheels, and generally has the motor in one place... karts are much more flexible in design...
Third, if you dont have stuff for kart steering, then you need to do some reading since kart steering is pretty easy to fab at home... and unless you plan on using all junk bicycle stuff, i dont see a mini bike build being 20 bucks...

i am all for using weird, not thought of things to build stuff with. thats actually what i do all day... but i am having a hard time seeing where you get mini bike from shopping cart. now go kart from shopping kart seems like a much smaller leap. go check out "LOLriokart" on the google.

minibike is certainly doable from a shopping kart there are plenty of bends and straight pieces to get the job done . but bolting one together is another story thats always a challenge.
