Hey there, If you don't mind me asking what did you use for rear bearing supports and half shafts? Also rear control arms. I am building a similar kart with a 420cc engine. I don't know if I'll use a polaris trans though. Thanks.
thought I would post a couple of updates, I ended up changing my front spindles to run a hydraulic brake, got rid of the hand controls and switched to a standard steering wheel, added a 32mm Mikuni CV carb, and changed the frame some.
Man thats one nice ride good work.Im also building a buggy with a 16hp clone and I also got a 250 polaris trail boss for parts. And I need that part that makes the clutch work. The link you posted didnt show the part so what is it call and do you know any other place to buy one. Thanks
I got my adapter and the paper work said to cut and rethread the crank shaft.Man that sounds spooky to me.How hard was it to tap the crank .Was it standard or mm threads.Sorry for all the question but dont want to mess up my motor. My trannys off a 250cc so I hope I dont have to mess with the springs.
I can't remember for sure but I think the clone shaft is a 10mm stock.
I drilled it deeper and taped it for the 3/8 polaris clutch bolt (before I cut it), I believe you could use a 10mm bolt if you get a bushing that will work with the clutch.
I needed to cut the shaft only for fitment in my buggy, if you have room you should not need to cut much at all from your shaft using the spacer and adapter only leaves about 1/4" that needs to go.
changing the primary clutch weights and spring is very easy and you may not need to depending on your gearing and weight.
its a good idea to clean up used clutches and inspect them for worn or broken parts before deciding that the motor or gearing is to blame (dont ask me how I know)
