At least I think I have the frame board picked out. It's wolmanized so I don't have to worry about rust. I think it's fine....but just to be safe....(you know I'm all about the safety) ....I'm going to take it to a machine shop to get magnafluxed ....(just in case there is a crack in it).

EDIT: Sorry for all the posts....but my phone is acting up and it's a real pain posting pics all of a sudden!

I was gonna suggest the HF wheels for the front then I saw those spiffy lawnmower wheels and thought those would be great to keep it low to the ground. What are they off of an old Murray lawnmower? Good wheels. Use the HF ones on the rear for traction and cornering. As for rope for steering what I would so if I were you is get some of that good nylon bailing twine they use on hay bails and weave me up a good strong rope out of that about an inch in diameter so it don't pull out of you're hands. Good luck I'm off now for three days so I'll check back then. Oh, one more thing make sure to use a good strong nail for the steering pivot, atleast a 10 penny. You don't want that sucker bending at high speeds and good call on getting that board checked for cracks and using treated lumber so it don't get no termites.

Do not try this at home Poorboy is a Professional, this type of build is not for beginers.

I need some help setting up the front end. What do yoi guys think is the optimum caster/ camber angles? I've done a ton of research (like nearly a whole 5 minutes) ....but even though I found a bunch of information, ....it didn't jibe with what I thought....so, I thought I'd just ask again and again until someone gives me the right answer.....I swear, never seen a place where so many people all had the same wrong answer!

You can use door hinges and attach the wheels to them. Then some string to turn the wheels

Think those hinges might supply a lil too much caster and camber.....besides..it's been done before.....I'm an innovator....not an imitator....and I actually learn from others mistakes by reading about them....not recreating them!

But thanks anyway....I think I'm just going to wing it on the castor oil and chamfer stuff.....maybe throw in some hacker mann for good measure.

I'm keeping it simple.
The fancier it is the more that can go wrong.
I went with the wider piece of plywood so I can run dual
motors if it handles as well as I expect it to.
This is the prototype, I'm gonna L brace a couple pieces of tubafor with a hole in it to run the rear axle through.
I'm thinking threaded rod with double nuts (safety first) to hold the sprockets in place.
Put some plastic over the rod to keep it from wallowing the holes out.
I know what you're thinking....where are the brakes.
Probably run a scrub brake of some sort, probably be easier to do on the fronts.
Don't want to over complicate things.

You know there's an easier way to do an epic build that AFAIK....has never been successfully done....

Just build a wooden barrel! Really, no engine, wheels or anything else required....

And take a trip to Niagara Falls! Hey, you might not make it....(like the multitude before) ....but imagine how valuable the information of your failure will be.....

BTW: I DO know a black man successfully went over the falls in a barrel way back in like the sixties.....but it wasn't made of wood....(go figure! )
