ARRRRGGG... Went to go through my Dingo 285 an do a simple ohh50 to pred 6.5 hemi swap. The deeper i get into it the more frustrated i am by the PO (Previous Owners) "work" he did.

Everything from the sprocket to the brake drum is welded on. Not to mention he welded the keys in the key ways and ground out the sprocket to fit the welded key and the sprocket still rocks on the axle. So even with all of his welding and hackery it still isn't solid.

So a simple motor swap turns into reworking the whole rear end assembly.

New axle,brake drum,sprocket hub,bearings..

STOP WELDING STUFF TO THE AXLE!!

End rant...

Bearings arent bad but I tend to swap them all out when im going through a kart.

Dang amateurs :toetap05:

You can try to grind everything apart & re-use some of the components but, IMO, you're best off replacing the axle itself; with all the heat stress from all that welding, it's pretty much useless as an axle...

Ive got it all ripped apart and grinded off. I can salvage the brake hub and the sprocket but the sprocket hub and axle is toast.
