Please help quick question on 6hp tecumseh

HI,the 6HP Tecumseh on a manco dingo will start if i push the primer button then run for 1-2 seconds then die if i dont push the primer. The TC belt is not the right one and is loose...Would this cause it to not run or is it a Carb problem??? Any help...Thanks

definitively a carb problem... clean the carb (carb cleaner or fuel + compressed air and a needle for the jets) and air filter, check for proper carb float operation and fuel clog in the line (clogged fuel filter)

for the belt ... you should change it to a proper belt ... it may cause traction/speed problems

the tecey's carb have a screw in the botom of the bowl there is a passage about .010 in diameter t clogs often
