I have a klipper kart dont know what model it is. Got it of craigslist. Starts first pull. Hesitates to accelerate. Engine will be at high rpm and kart will not move. seems to do this after I've been driving it for a couble of minutes. Gets worse everytime I drive it. Chain smokes too. Any fixes. Ideas. Has a 5 horsepower briggs & stratton.

It only has 1 clutch then? Then I would assume alls you need to do is get a new clutch, they arnt really all that expensive.

Tire diameter, tooth count on clutch, tooth count on driven sprocket, and chain size is needed to determine if driveline is correct.
I suspect an overload. If so, a new clutch will do the same thing.

Overloading because i'm too fat?

engine only 5 horse power. I weigh 240. Is that what you mean by overloading. Or something else. Besides I forgot to say. the guy I got it from said he put a new clutch in it.

He means the gearing might be too high. Your not too fat, I got my lead but too! :D

Is the gearing original, did you change anything on it?

We still need tooth counts on the clutch and axle sprockets, as well as overall tire diameter, as measured from the ground to the very top of the tire tread.

It is also possible that the kart originally had a CVT, and the PO swapped it out for a clutch. If that's the case, the gear ratio is no longer appropriate.

Then you're overgeared, too. Clutch may be damaged.
