do you think this engine will produce enough torque or power, how big of sprocket 60 tooth? its 6 feet long and with engine on back swing arm with shocks weighs less then 175 pounds lol

First, a few periods can do wonders for clearing up a paragraph.

Second, a 37 tooth sprocket is wayyyyy to small. You need more like a 72 tooth at the very least, and since you want torque, a jackshaft is in order to gear the kart down.

even better idea
sell the 11hp and get your self a 250cc bike engine
it will kick any 11hp industrial engine no matter what u do to it

i dont know how much an 11hp goes for but a bike engine will cost u bugger all

cant kech me

Excellent question.
Personally...I don't have time to shift. I will pass most of them (and stay ahead) before they get out of 2nd gear. :roflol:

maybe my current 250 but not snow moble powered karts
anyways ill pass u when u reach top speed

i cant say how we would compare on bituman because i dont have any to race on

i drive dirt roads and paddocks and i just dont see any industrial engine getting the performance of a bike engine
better rev range
better power to weight
got a gear box

fowler, i wasn't challenging you:surrender:, just wondering, cause yes, a bike engine is better, but its also overkill for a yard kart and little bit expensive for some of us. and you kinda seem waaay biased too.

i rode a yamaha YZ125 next to my friend on my baja warrior. of course i was faster.

yamaha:

125cc
2 stroke
6 speed
liquid cooled
tuned pipe
V force carb
race engine

baja warrior:

196cc
4 stroke
1 speed
air cooled
straight pipe
stock
generator (or tiller, etc) engine...

once i got into 3rd gear, i blew right past him. he was at a constant 4200ish RPM. now lets put price tags on those bikes brand new.

YZ125: $6,250
warrior: $600ish (got mine for $275 used)

the yz125 engine had so much power it was scary. hill climbs? i had the throttle wide open on the baja. got about halfway up a VERY steep hill (about 100 feet high too) and it came to a stop. second gear, wide open, my friend took his YZ straight up that "cliff." the engine didnt show stress at all. it stayed at redline. he also left a rooster tail of dirt and sand in the air behind him.... theres a huge cost difference between the 2 types of engines, and the power is drastically different.

i wasnt takeng it as a challlenge
for russ i did but not seriously

yes i am way bias
and yes somtimes i get carried away and add it to situations that dont need it
but from his pics id say he doesnt have a typical yard cart

i dont really know the situation in the us but here in aus old bikes and industrial engines go prety close hand in hand for price
espesially when u add a clutch sprockets, cables, chain and so on that come with a bike
