Playstation 3 Not Working

Hey Guys,

Well my cousin gave me his playstation 3 the other day because it wasnt working. When you turn it on it takes about 5 minutes and then it says to plug in your controller to continue. I plug it in and nothing happens. it just stops working and the screen turns black. Ive tried several controllers and still the same result. Before this happened it would say that it was having hard drive problems and that it needed to be formatted. So i would click to format it and it would do it and then this problem came up. Anyone know about PS3's or know what my problem is??

i have an older model ps3, but in the back of mine theres a small button that says reset

get the biggest hammer you can find and try to be dead center. might work.

and if that dosent work, put it in the microwave then burn it to a crisp

yeah i think thats what im going to have to do (send it back) It still has the manufacturer one year warranty on it. he got it in november. I just didnt want to have to deal with having to send it, wait for them to bother looking at it with the millions of other ones that get sent in daily and then have to wait until like october to get it back.

Ill call them laterr today and see what they tell me.

Yeah, see what they say first, DONT mess with it if its still in warrenty. Mess with it the warrenty is over... use and abuse it!

Hold the ps3 button until you hear 2 beeps then a double beep, it'll turn on, connect your controller through USB click restore and finished, sorry to bring up an old thread
