Bought another 22mm carb and bought an adjustable throttle cable. Problem is with a thumb throttle and carb both hooked up and cable extended the slide is partially engaged. Might have to cut a little off the end and install a bike cable end to make it a little longer. Problem is I Seam to have misplaced my extra ends.

are you sure its not supposed to be like that? it is supposed to be open a little bit to allow the engine to idle.

:iagree:

Make sure your idle screw is not what is pushing up the slide and disconnect the cable to see if it is the cable pulling the slide up. If the cable is too short you can try a bike cable cut to length and a put a bike cable crimp on the end with some solder to keep it from coming off. You put the end with the bike crimp in the carb slide.

It was about a 1/4 or less before I installed the cable. I guess I haven't installed it yet or tried it. Didn't come with bolt or square nuts for mounting it and my other one has the tabs smashed so the square nuts can't be removed with out a dremel tool. Maybe it's supposed to be slightly open like you say. I guess I'll have to install and check the rpms with my Chinese tach. I just felt like a 1/4" longer and she'd be closed all the way and if the slide needed to be open a little I could adjust it from there. I paid extra for an adjustable cable vs non adjustable.
