Ordered fork seals, manual CCT, and a sticker tank pad. New plugs, oil and filter along with it.

I assume this bike has been rejetted to accept the exhaust and modified airbox, as the plugs are a good tan color. Could use a carb sync though. The bike pulls very hard the last 1/4 throttle.

A large bug hit me in the neck while i was going at least 75 mph...hurt like a beotch

I guess the airbox mod was a trick back in the day...

Depending on the shape of the fairing, and considering there very expensive. I'd recommend buying a cheap soldering iron (5 bucks) and an abs plastic elbow ($1.50 from lowes or home depot, it will be stamped abs on it, and usually black [not pvc])
Sand the paint off, tape over the crack so it holds where its supposed to be.
And melt the plastic back together, if you need more plastic melt some off the plastic elbow. Get it all structurally sound and beefed up (especially on the back, where it won't be seen) and clean up the front side. Little bit of sanding, maybee some body filler, and VOILA!
Well don't forget full ventilation (outside, with a fan on the part, and a respirator is ideal)
I did all the plastic body panels on my 2002 honda 919, including completely reattaching the mounting tap on the front fender. I bought it completely wrecked for $140 dollars. You could never tell now.
Here she is all finished, about 1200 dollars in (most of the money was the seat, headlight, and gauges). 100% back to stock

I too did my own plastic welding on my fairings. Strong as hell. I did mine with some black plastic filler rod and a soldering iron. Works a treat.

I'm just going to leave mine street fighter-ish for now. Where did you get the filler rod?

Rebuilt the forks, left fork was rusty oil right fork was grey oil....They perform quite a bit better now. Manual CCT took the slop out of the chain...but there still is a slight tick, i didn't want to over tighten the chain so i left it. The noise goes away after about 5 minutes. Now i just have to figure out a headlight and get some insurance and ill be on the road.

Oh wow.... That looks like FUN! A friend had a 2005 cbr600... he and I were messing around racing home from work one day (Me on my Suzuki Savage 650) and he would drop 3 gears, make some ungodly sort of noise and disappear into hyperspace... I think my bike was accelerating faster just from the hole in the atmosphere he created! Have fun with it!

sounds more like valve ticking than cam chain related. check valve clearance yet? I just got done doing an engine rebuild on my roommates xt600 1984 dual sport. sound went away when it warmed up but after the rebuild it no longer exists. Pisses me off because he can now sit right along side me at full throttle when I'm riding my souped up drz 400 supermoto with full yoshimura exhaust

I just cut a bit of abs plastic from a role of wire. Like the thing the roll of wire comes on. Yer u dont want to over tighten ur cam tensioner or it will shred it to pieces.

it'll stretch your chain and throw off your valve timing. i just turn the bike on and tighten the mcct until the rattling of the chain goes away, and no more.

Yeah jerry this thing is no where near as fast as an 05 but it holds its own. Rode with my buddy the last couple days, he has a Buell XB12 (1200 Harley engine) And i could stay with him no problem...we switched bikes and mine was A LOT smoother at 100+(MPH) But that V-twin was a beast i must say...

The tick is the cam chain...i adjusted it a bit more and the noise is gone. Soldered up my plastics and put in the new headlight. I have the carbs ripped apart installing a DYNOJET jet kit.....Replaced the needles but the main jets in the kit were smaller than the ones in there...it has been jetted before obviously....I am just going to mess with the mixture screws and throw it back together. This thing doesn't pull hard til about 8K rpm....really peaky all top end power....Fun but not useful unless your at the track...

Another thing i noticed..it may be the gas i use, but my exhaust note changes quite often? Maybe my packing is blowing out.

Here's some pics....BLAST FROM THE PAST!!!

Nice. Looks like ur front tyre is in need of a changing. I picked up another project bike. A 1992 Kawasaki ZZR250, this is how it looks atm. The oil was a tad low XD so i drained what was there and pulled out the oil filter and got a new one. The bike needs quite a bit of work. Still yet to go: New coolant, Fuel tank clean and new fuel, New brake fluid and rear brake pads, A bit of re spraying. Should be done in the next couple of weeks hopefully.
