Picked up a Yellow Jacket today

I've been without a project for a while now. I was starting to get twitchy. Then I spoted this for sale! I couldn't pass this thing up. A go kart with a suspension! Wow. This thing is Cool!
I'm pretty happy with it. Not too much damage. Pretty much unmolested. Time to build another 390. Oh Boy! I'm so excited! I'm thinking, complete rebuild. It's going to be sharp! It even has a brand new 212 Predator.

Gosh that's cool! I don't think I've seen a rear axle suspension like that before. You always find the nicest karts. You did the world a service removing those awful noodles.

Thank you, BaconBitRacing. That's awfully kind of you. By the way, I found the manufacturer tag. It was made by Manco. Model number 5506-01, in case anyone wants to know. This thing is really in incredible shape. I'm very possible going to leave it in its Patina'd state. Most of the paint is original. Stickers are in good shape. Only problem is someone ran into something with one of the front wheels. Spindles are fine, but the brackets that hold them got trashed. Time to order some new spindle brackets and 6 shocks.

Very nice find. That thing is in great shape. I have an 18 year old Baja Motor Sports ( Chinese ) kart that has the U-joints in the rear axle very much like yours. Bought it band new. Never a problem with the joints or axles.

That's good to hear about the U-joints. I am going to have to inspect them pretty good. If you would have seen the short video of this thing, you would have had a hard time believing it survived this long. They had it on 2 wheels a couple of times.
