Will probably replace the engine with a HF 7 hp if I can't get it running.

"Good for you" to give that Briggs a chance. If you get it going; You won't regret it.

There's nothing wrong with the Harbor Freight Predators, I have one on my old mini bike, and I like it but there is something special about a Briggs on a Go Kart.

Predators run fine but the Briggs seems to run more solid...that's the only way I can describe it.

You say the Briggs has been sitting since the Fall? I got a Briggs for my project that had sat for several years. It took a little work and a carburetor cleaning and a little tuning but it runs good now. They're stronger than you think. Give it a shot. Besides, it's fun to bring something like that back to life.

I'm definitely going to give it a shot. Gotta pull the motor and get the model number off it. Clean up the frame and give it a new dose of paint. I'll give the whole thing a good going over.
