PM sent...

I suspected that and then i realized that the engine hasnt been run in forever so i checked the oil and it was soo black it was almost purple :roflol: so an oil change should get rid of the smoking and some more warming up the engine and i should be all set.

Just curious, what carb are you going with?

I hear you on the oil, lots of people seem to run stuff forever without the least bit of maintenance, then they gripe when it doesn't work right. Sheesh...

I ordered a performance gy6 carb kit with the intake, carb, and air filter. The carb has manual choke and is an improvement over the stock one. Its a direct bolt on kit for the gy6. I think it was 60 bucks, ill post up the link tomorrow when I'm on my computer (currently on phone)

Well the kit looked good and everything was ready till I went to mount it.I have a frame rail in the way and the carb is just too big to fit the frame -__- so I'm gonna either have to return the kit and hope I get my money back, or just try and see if I can use some elbows (I'm guessing pvc won't work? ) To move the carb off to the side so that it'll fit. I'm not happy at all right now.

Well i finally called and was able to tell them my problem so they are going to send me the information so that i can return the package.

In the meantime i discovered that a similar atv was up in my local craigslist and it had plastics that said Moto SS-90. I found out that our vins were almost identical and that the guy ended up having the same exact quad. so i now know that the quad that i have is a Moto SS-90 chinese quad...

Does anyone know anything about these quads or where i can get parts from it? A google search didnt turn up much except other people with the same question on where to get parts. Please help guys at this point i just wanna get this thing running good. Summer's almost here (3 weeks) and i want it to be ready by then. Thanks

I actually got one similar a few month back for free. It didnt run because It a wiring nightmare. It has an alarm on it and its all crap Chinese parts. I have found if you ebay search "90cc chinese atv" you can usually find parts. I bought a starter solenoid and after about 6 uses it went bad.

Hey sorry i havent seen this post. The quad was sold during the summer. After returning the carb and the other parts i just figured it wasnt worth the trouble of trying to clean the carb and mess around with wiring etc etc. Your right on saying that the wiring is a nightmare. I was able to get a decent dirtbike shortly afterwards though so im happy.
