Got this engine today out of a Yamaha Diversion 600cc (xj600).
Should be a good project whatever I decide to do with it.

EDIT: wait its an inline 4! never mind about the winder than, a piranha maybe, but that might really be stretching the wallet! (if a winder wasn't already! LOL)

Thanks lads, haven't decided what to put it in yet. I will get up more pics this evening, rebuilding the carbs at the minute.

Just build a side-engine kart. This way your seat/body wont be blocking any air flow to the engine, and its actually a better design feature because the kart can be shorter for tighter/better turning ability.

You just mount battery/fuel tank/etcetera and especially the seat a bit further over on the opposite side to help balance the right/left weight bias out to be as close as possible...

Thanks for the info ander, dont know how I would manage the engine on a kart however being a 4 cylinder, I will try to get up a few more pics.

That racekart in my top pic is a 4-cylinder, and If your gonna build an off road buggy it could be even wider to make room for your Yamaha...

How wide is your engine?
