I HATE photobucket!
it is by far the worst and most annoying website I have seen in a while.
And since it seems to be popular the last few weeks to use photobucket in here, it bothers me every day.
Here's why:
photobucket does not allow direct access to an image.
So embedding them here causes a redirect to happen
your browser asks for an image, the server responds with a 302
(moved to: new address)
and your browser ask for the delivered address in that 302.
two outgoing requests per image, one pointless.. always... by design!
Anyways, modern browsers can and will just alter the second request (not accepting html, just images) so the image will be embedded, and the untrained eye doesn't see a difference to a 'good' image hoster.
older browsers, do not alter the request , but always use the same format (still accepting all that's valid, incl html) .
and that's where photobucket fails completely...
it does NOT redirect to the image, instead it redirects to a html page containing said image...
and html cannot be embedded...
there's also no "missing image" sign, since the response is valid..
AND?
the post is there, the images are not.
That's the worst crap I have seen in a while
(and I deal with stuff like this on a daily basis)

I have several browsers on my computer, older ones and new ones..
as I said, I deal with stuff like that on a daily basis, and I need to make sure websites run on reasonably old browsers as well as new ones..
When I have to pick my favourite browser.. it's an old one I admit, (unable to alter the request to photobucket)
one reason: 30 open tabs -> 1GB RAM used,
it's recent version: 6 open tabs -> 2.4GB RAM used (six of the above 30 btw)
I can swap browser and even work around that issue with some coding magic on my side...
I'm not concerned about missing something myself at all
The problem is this:
You don't know what browsers other people are using!
I bet some of you don't even know that they might have missed an image somewhere themselves.
And if you want to add pictures, photobucket is the worst possible way of adding them.
Since you'll never know if the reader can or cannot see the image.
Asking for help you may miss the one that is able to help, since he cannot see the image in question.
And in the end, photobucket doesn't serve you well.
