Well, because I decided I don't have enough money for a complete go kart, I have decided to make a Remake of a Peel P50. If you guys don't know what this is it was a mini car made on the isle of man and it cost about 400 bucks, and it had a 50cc engine. Mine will have a similar body style, but with a mini quad pieces on the bottom, proper suspension, and a 110cc 4 stroke engine with a Fire-Spitting exhaust. It will also be slightly bigger so I can fit in it, and it will be a shifter. I am getting ALL the parts for this build tomorrow, and I plan on getting the frame built next week. I am going on three week holiday so I am hoping to have plenty of time to both build and drive my New Peel P50. Also different from the original it will have two wheels at the back instead of 1 to make it a bit more stable. I have attached a few pictures of the original and I am planning on making it look quite a bit like the original, just a bit more squarish. I am planning for the front to be arched (like the original) but flat at the same time, and then the whole body will be this arch untill it goes to the seat where another bigger piece will be welded on. Also Unlike the original it will have an actual underchasis, and a special dirt bike exhaust which spits fire.. Should be pretty fun :) :roflol:

Well, at least my body will be reinforced around the sides, and will be built out of aluminum and steel bar hehe... but I shouldn't be going very fast in the first place and I just crashed on a moped last week at 60 and I wasn't very hurt at all, and I think this should only do about 40. Another thing to add is that it will have a 5 point harness, and maybe even a racing seat :wai:

hello
Well I got my miniquad parts today, and they looked very nice execpt they were missing parts i needed such as spindles, and bearings which i could not buy seperately so I suppose I am returning them today, and then buying a complete miniquad tmrw for about 100 dollars shipped to my front door, but it hasn;t been too much of a problem. This wek I will go get the frame built based on the desired wheelbase and then It should be good to go :)

Ok haven't been here for a while but I have been getting most of my parts together. I seem to have everything now except for the frame. I just got my engine in a few days ago and a couple of batteries and I am beginning to wire it up, but it should be done soon. Good thing about this motor is it's from a ATV so it has 4 automatic gears and a stator built in, and it will easily accept mods. Also I got my exhaust and what I am doing is I will be getting a Glow-Plug from a Remote control car and then attaching it to a 12v glow driver, and then wiring that to a switch and the battery and therefore making the exhaust flame. I also am thinking about giving in as I have three 12v batteries which can be used, and a decent electric motor is only 30 dollars here, and I was wondering about making a hybrid. :ack2: The final thing I want to ask though is I was thinking about making it about 100cm wide, or around three feet and 150 long, about 4 and a half feet. I was wondering if this is too thin and if It will often flip over, as I am not sure. I will be sure to post pics of all of this stuff tomorrow and I hope to get this completely done in about a month. :cheers2:

Good luck with your project! I love micro/bubble cars lol

I don't think it will flip if your smart im the way you drive, basically just dont drive like an idiot and it should be fine lol. It might do wheelies though, with such a short wheelbase and all the weight(you) over the back wheel, could be interesting with one rear wheel...

I like your idea for the flame thrower exaust! I made one using a spark plug and a coil, the problem with that was if you left it on for very long then you burnt out the coil, yours world work much better I think, should go well.

hey what's up, well I promised pictures so I took some with my phone today, they aren't the greatest but whatever. Here are some pictures of the engine, Wheels, A-Arm, Spindles, and Shock Absorber, Electronics, Carb (Which is Extremely Small BTW, and will be replaced asap), and Old Quad Frame, Axle, And Hand Controls. All I really need now is a frame and I can wire it all together and fire it up, but if only if it would ever be that simple haha.
