Chinese PAZ200 mini Jeep project.
I bought this from china, showed up in a crate.
I love the thing but they put a wee lol 175cc gy6 in it. (It’s sold claiming to have 200cc, but no, it’s very much 175cc.)
The result is a fun lil unit, at WOT maybe 28mph at 7k rpm’s. (Loud and rattly)
so I’ve been contemplating this for some time, swapping in a bigger, manual transmission motor with an auto clutch. The goal here is enough power to spin the tires in snow, and a top speed of hopefully 35-40 so it’s not screaming like a banshee driving around town.
I bought a 1987 Honda trx350 that has everything I need, but it’s a 4wd shaft drive. So now my goal is to fix and sell, and buy a rebuild 4x2 2001 Honda trx300 instead. (I feel 4wd conversion might be over my head. I just want a torque-y rwd.)
The current engine is in the rear, and there is no space for a bigger one. So the new design will have to be front engine.
So the first problem, steering. The engine bay will fit the motor after i cut the gas tank brackets out, but the steering shaft and rack and pinion is in the way. Anyone have any ideas for a left-hand steering input that would work??

at the top right of the gas tank, you can see the steering shaft come through the firewall.
if I can figure something clever to get that out of the way, I may be able to install the Atv engine and transmission, with a chain to a jack shaft, to the back, then a chain back up to a jack shaft, to a cv joint to the rear pumpkin I will also be stealing from a Honda Atv. Just transferring power from one end to the other.
many help or advice or input of any sort is greatly appreciated.
