Pathfinder - Wheel Bearing Size

Anyone know if these would work for replacing these bearings? Not exactly sure what size to get. Can't exactly find a parts manual for this Pathfinder Go Kart I'm helping to revive.

Why don't you.... measure the inside diameter and outside diameter (I.D. & O.D.) of the bearing in question?
I'm not sure you need the snap rings on the bearings at the link.

Most go kart bearings have an ID of 5/8" or 3/4".

Thank you! Yes sorry........that was a typo. It is a "Path Winder" Go Kart. No wonder I can't find much info about them or parts for that matter!

I just ordered those bearings in the previous link. They worked great for the Manco kart I tuned up last week, so I'm hoping these fit as well.

Chances are they will fit, but I guess you're a gambling, flies-by-the-seat-of-his-pants guy who doesn't mind wasting his time (if they're the wrong size)...


Since you already ordered some for a Manco kart (a 10 pack too?) why didn't you take one of the remaining bearings and hold it up to the Pathwinder wheel for a comparison, or see if you could slide it on the axle?

So I replaced the bearings on the driver front wheel, but it still wobbles. Rim doesn't appear that damaged?

Anyway, think this would be a good replacement for it? Not sure if I should buy 2 of them and put both on the front? Not sure if it matters to have mismatching tires.............also this one looks like its a tube tire......all these on this kart say Tubeless.

Suggestions? I can order it with 5/8" bearings just like it needs too.

Definitely do not buy the item they have pictured which just shows bushings (or plain bearings).
That's a lawn mower/low speed setup.

You need rims with 5/8" sealed ball bearings, but since there's no photos of the options
and the description is pi$$ poor, they might just give you a 5/8" plain bearing wheel.

I say keep gambling like you have been...


P.S. Define "wobbles". Could be a bent rim but perhaps your spindle(s) has been worn down by seized bearings or other abuse and are now smaller than 5/8" OD.

Your wobbling could be excess play between the bearing and spindle.

Funny you mention those lawn mower tires..........guess that's what's been on there for I think as long as they've had this kart! LOL.

Wobbles - The wheel wobbles when the tire is spun. Very noticeable, and its definitely the rim. I took 2 videos. I'm sure the wobble makes the kart more difficult to control? Haven't tested myself yet, but if I can get a decent - yet inexpensive pair of front tires to match they may go for it.

Ended up buying these tires from Go Power Sports. These should do the trick. Now working on the rears! I've got a post up for that if you can help.

Yeah that wobbly wheel is toast--either the wheel is bent or the hub is.

That tire (and wheels) package from GPS looks okay, but be aware you're now going
from tube tires to tubeless and possibly losing a bit of easy maintenance that a split rim + inner tube provides. Much easier to change the tires with a split rim, in my estimation.

Are your friends buying these parts or is it you and they're reimbursing you?

Thanks Hellion. Guess I'm confused......these older Carlisle tires (with the yellow rims) say Tubeless on them, and so do the ones I just bought from GPS.......

I'm buying everything and they'll reimburse me.........I just had to ask them a few times......"So how much do you want to put into this thing?" Had to check w/ them before I bought the tires. I rode it with that wobbly wheel, and it definitely didn't feel right! They agreed to change it (them) out. Since it comes w/ 2 I'll put both on the front.

I'm not talking about what the tires say on the sidewalls, I'm talking about what you actually have now and the setup you're getting with the new wheels from GPS.

Are those yellow wheels and tires indeed split rims (two halves bolted together) with inner tubes inside? Sure looks like it but I could be wrong.


You can add inner tubes to a tubeless tire by the way but there's no reason to, unless you're using those tires with split rims (that leak air).

Am I making sense?

I actually just Googled it because I'd never heard of a split rim before. I'm just getting into this so forgive my ignorance with some of the terminology. I don't think it is, the bolts are holding the wheel on to the hub....and I don't see any sort of locking ring. on either side....but of course I could be wrong. How can I tell for sure?

Since the one rim/wheel is bent, I could investigate since I'm going to scrap it. Might as well try and break the bead on it and look if I can (never tried breaking a tire bead before).

Since it says "tubeless" on the tire I just assumed that it was tubeless. From what I've researched, these are tires that are supposed to go on lawn tractors and other power equipment, but for whatever reason, the people that had this kart before my sons friend decided to put these tires on it I guess.

After the old tires wore out they most likely got replaced. Almost all of my karts have split rims in the front. Got a flat on a back one and the split rims make it easier to work on. 4 bolts and you can switch out a tube.

Look at the valve stem too. Because if it has a stem like those it's a tube. If it seals it's tubeless.
