Is there a motor mount for a Honda GX270 (8hp) clone to bolt onto a 2002 Margay chassis. I am building a couple of matched karts with stock (9ph) clones and I need all info on parts for such a project.

for the GX390 bolt pattern, but I'm not sure what size bolt-pattern your engine needs.

You need to measure and post your GX270/8hp-clone motor mounting pattern. Take accurate measurements from the center points of each of the 4 mounting holes.

_________

To order a motor mount that fits your frame, you'll need to measure the distance between your 2 frame rails where the motor mount sits. Take these measurements from the center to center points of these 2 frame rails.

The International (Int) style motor mounts measure 3-5/8" from rail to rail.
The American (Am) mounts are for karts with 3" rail spacing.

I'm looking for a 12T 35CH 1" bore clutch my self,

Here's a 10T 40CH clutch I came across.

http://www.mfgsupply.com/m/c/206170A.html?mv_pc=Froogle

That clutch is only rated for use with up to 7hp engines. but it would hold up and last pretty good if you geared your kart for lower speeds like maybe 30mph.

Another drawback of that clutch is it can only be mounted with its drive gear facing outward. I own one of these clutches and a couple racekarts just like your Margay. I also own and use several larger size engines with 1" output shafts like your 8hp clone.

This clutch model would end up hanging way out at the very end of your engines output shaft about 3" or 4" away from your engine. This would require your engine to be mounted way further outside the frame rails and/or your seat to be mounted way over further away from the engine.

You need a 1" bore clutch that can be installed with its drive gear facing in towards the engine. These clutches are called Bi-Directional, or In-board/Out-Board.

I've done a lot of research on 1" bore clutches, I use and would recommend you buy a #35 Noram Star clutch with 13 teeth: http://www.out2win.com/catalog/noram.html#star

Here's a pic of my 1" bore Star clutch mounted outboard on my 10hp Honda engine kart:

Here's a pic of that same Star clutch installed In-board on my other racekart:

Thanks very much, this should get me to the next step.
