Paint stripping the Manco

Stripping old paint off the Manco I noticed under all the black paint it was white. Did Manco's every come white or is that just the primer? I also noticed I had a weird decal on the floor panel I never seen before.

Why yes, they came in white and that decal is indicative of the time frame when the kart was built--you know, what was fashionable at the time.

Are you using a chemical stripper?

Yes I am using a chemical stripper. Strip the black right off, the white not so mush. I started to sand it with an oscillating tool and it seems to be taking it off pretty easy,I just need to pick up a courser sanding disc.

You wouldn't happen to know what year it was made in? Would've been pretty cool if I could salvage that decal.

Check the date of your engine, assuming of course that you think it's original to the kart. That will give you a ballpark figure on the date your kart was manufactured.
