I've been thinking about an electric project for a while, and was originally going to use a golf cart motor and fabricate the shaft myself. But then I was checking out the forums and saw this kit: http://www.e-drivekit.com/product.sc?productId=1&categoryId=1
This kit is ridiculously cheap, but I'm concerned about the 800W motor. I was wondering what would happen if I overvolted the motor by adding an extra 12v battery? would the controller still limit it to the same amperage as before, or would an extra battery boost my power? I don't really know how a controller works...
I want the kart to be able to carry 2 people on occasion, so the more power the better (duh). Thanks!
