Mr Spindles, I hate to speak in this fashion, and it scares the daylights out of me really to do so....
But many years ago, way before your time.....
There was a black man that played many different roles on television and in movies. He also did quite a few commercials for a company you still know as Jello.
In most of his roles he played a kind and very funny man. You may know his works, or at least know of him.
It seems over the years, this man had a very mean and selfish dark side that no one on God's green earth could possibly fathom.
But this man used to be quite hilarious, and could bring a room to tears with his humor. The mans talents were really beyond measurement, for you see, he was able to make people roar with laughter without ever using anything even remotely close to a cuss word.
You may know this man as Bill Cosby.
One particularly memorable commercial was one concerning Jello Brand chocolate pudding.
Now, back then, people were uptight, but not near as uptight as they are nowadays. It was alright back then for a black man to do a commercial concerning chocolate products. In fact, no one even gave it a second thought, whereas today some people would jump up and down tearing their own hair out and body parts off, yelling racism if it were to happen, but I'm going off on a bit of a tangent, and that's not really my point here.
What I'm getting at is this; He had this funny commercial, which I seriously doubt might ever be found again, due to his indescrepencies which I cannot delve into here, out of fear of having to go play with the band again.
ANYWAY....
Bill is standing, and 2 young gentleman are sitting at a counter. The kids are quite a bit younger than yourself.
Mr Cosby serves them each a nice bowl of chocolate pudding.
He places a bowl in front of each of them. One boy gets a big 'ol smile on his face, while the other looks upset, so upset in fact, that it looks as if he's about to cry.
For you see, when Mr Cosby sat down those two bowls, one of them had a nice topping of whipped cream, whereas the one sat in front the child about to cry did not.
Mr Cosby in his wise ways, was able to see that the child without the whipped cream was rather unhappy.
Mr Bill proceeded to ask him what was wrong.
The little boy exclaimed " I have no whipped cream on mine!"
Taking note that his funny little ploy had worked as planned, Mr Bill reaches over with a can of whipped cream, and commences to disperse a nice pile on the bowl that was previously missing the whipped cream.
The little boy begins to beam almost as if Santa had just shown up, or a Unicorn had appeared, riding a rainbow, and pooping swirly colored ice cream.
The little boy digs into his Jello brand chocolate pudding with the whipped cream topping, and is very happy!
At the same time, Mr Cosby also has his own bowl of chocolate pudding.
Bill takes a big spoonful at the same time as the child previously without the whipped cream does. They both spoon it into their mouths, and Mr Cosby gleefully says, "Pretty good, huh?"
The little boy who had originally received the whipped cream responds with "Yeah!"
As the commercial is fading out, Mr Bill looks at the first kid, and jokingly asks, "Who asked you to talk?"
Now, you might be wondering to yourself why I'm telling you this little gem of a happy tale?
The reason, I shall tell you, is this;
Imagine you are the first little boy who got the whipped cream on his Jello Brand chocolate pudding, and Imagine that I'm Bill Cosby.
I say to the other child, "Pretty good, huh?"
Then you chime in by saying: "My arm feels much better, we are leaving for Oklahoma tomorrow."
And then, try very to hard to imagine me exclaiming in question;
"Who asked you to talk?"
For indeed, if I was able to find said commercial, I would have placed it in this post instead of attempting to tell you this parable, hoping you would get the gist.
But since I am not able to locate it, let me just end by saying:
Who asked you to talk?
