i've bought a few of the knock-off comet 40 clutches. they work great IF you lube up the internals of the driver (primary) clutch. otherwise they're prone to seizing up (rollers getting off the tracks) and stalling the motor when you stop the kart. simply open up the driver clutch and lube up the rollers and tracks for the rollers with some heavy duty grease or white lithium grease (what i had handy). problem solved. try not to get excess grease on them that will bleed onto the brass bushing - cuz that will get onto the belt and cause loss of friction, making the belt not grab like it should.

Not much in the way of progress, just waiting on some extra parts to rock in. Still have to organise front wheels and hubs, seat and torque converter.
Fuel tank, steering column and rear hubs all installed.
