so my wife tells me our wedding photographer has a kart for sale, make an offer. After telling me, with much regret , I told her to tell them $150, no questions asked.... ( I saw a pic and liked it) They tell us deal! I go to pick it up today and load it up without checking it out.... TRY to give her $150 and the husband comes out shaking his head NO..... Great, here we go.... He says he won't take / can't take $150..... Said he only wanted a $100......
It has 1 bald drive tire. Needs air in the other. Oil in the throttle cable to make it not so sticky. Top/cross bar put back on at top of cage. And some work on the seat. Bottom feels nice,but needs a back... LoL this one just won't do.....
O, the engine cranks up on first pull and runs pretty good for a tecrapsa engine. The carb has leaked in the past, tel tale signs on the body and bowl.... But all in all, I think I got a pretty good deal. It will be for sale soon,only got it to flip it. I know 2 seaters are a hot item in this neck of the woods.... So what do you guys think?
Its made by BDM out of Roseland LA. Its a spider.....I'm guessing by the faded sticker that its from the "green machine" line up.....

Is it a live or dead axle? n whats the width of the rear? I may have something right up your alley if its a dead... (might).

About 36"... The frame is quite stout, made with .085-.09" tube! It would make a great start for a '32 as it is already very close to fitting the body as is. The upper side bars would need to come in about 2" per side. Converting to live axle would get me the extra 5"+ to make a 60" wheel base. From front axle to back of seat, the dimensions fit the body pretty darn good. I'm tempted to do a quick '32 conversion for the build off , but ehhh.... I dunno....
This was bought to resell as is, minus fixing the cable and cage. If I have another back tire, I'll put it on. If not, then I'm gonna just swap from left to right. Don't want to put money/time in it. Just want to get money out of it, to start buying stuff to build the '32's... Have the chassis designed , full NASCAR style. Getting ready to draw up full scale blueprint/plans to build off of. The chassis can be checked as you build, for correctness. I will have 3 separate drawings. One for base of chassis. One of upper chassis. And one of the rear section, and how they all connect,with the upright bars and triangulated bars, to form a stout/safe environment in the event of an O crap! Moment...

That roll cage is nuts! It's almost like you could flip all the way over and then roll on the roll cage and then land on all fours..... Or not.... Nice buy. Now go sell it for $800 and let someone talk you down to $500

That's the plan, Grant. Maybe not so high though. And yes, the roll bar is funky. I would like to try flipping it head over heels just to see if I can make it all the way back to 4 on the floor. I'm thinkin I can make it, with enough speed.and I'm crazy enough to try it. I need some time off from work anyway..... Lol

ok well, I'd have to install a 5 point harness, which i have. Get a big dirt hill to carve a flip over ramp into, which i got one. Helmet,check.... Jacket n gloves.... Ehhh..... Wife's permission..... she said not no, but HAYUULLL NO....... LoL gonna keep pitching the idea to her from different angles... You know, the whole safety aspect..... We shall see....
The guys at the shop are all for helping set it up..... Of course....

roll the kart without actually sitting in it down said dirt hill.

then repeat with a dummy weight (bag cement or something... like annoying neighbor kids.. )

And if both passed successfully, repeat with your wife holding the camera
