Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Mario and I'm living on the south west end of Ontario, near Kitchener.

First and foremost, I would like to thank this site and all it's members for it's contributions, as half the problems I ran into during my build were answered somewhere in these forums. Kudos !

Second, I've be browsing these forums since about 2 months ago when I picked up my run down Carbie Princess Auto gokart. The kart had quite a few things wrong with it but at the price $600, I couldn't find anything comparable with such a good frame and a proper steering rack.

Since, me and my son have rebuild the whole back end, removed the crooked jackshaft assembly and installed a new TAV2 TQ to replace the clutch that was in there.

So that's just a start. Like I said I've been browsing for month, and though it was about time I would join the conversation, as I find you all very helpful and informative.

Ok few pics

This is the before, all I did was mount the winch at this time, you can see it has a clutch and jack shaft with this config, 3 chains total which only one was adjustable, kept having chain problems, either chain would skip or total fall off.

I decided I should rebuild the rear end after 3 bad trips out, all ending with chain problems

I had to flip the axel to the other side, move the brakes, and rebuild the frame, just kept the part that had the shocks connected to it. I know my welds aren't the greatest, as I only had access to a flux welder. I've since redid some of the welds with a proper 220V mig, after I had one of my welds break.

After the new frame went on, I reinforced the junction points just in case with 5/16 bolts, swapped out the clutch which started to smoke at 6:1 ratio with a TAV2 Comet 30, the engine is a 9HP suburu i know the TAV2 is only good to 8HP, but it's holding good. I also had to go sprocket on sprocket drill out the mounting holes to get the new 60T mounted with the 4 bolts, this axel has no key. So far she runs great, spring is set to pos 3 for most torque, clocked at about 55-60KM at full speed on 22" tires

and here it is on the new trailer I picked up yesterday for transport :) fits pretty good.

More to come
