This works no problem on powerwheels up to about 750 watts with Chinese YK31 controllers, is it any different running with 1500 watt motors and a 110 amp Curtis controller?

Simply put, It's a skid steer. The motor controller output goes to independent relays on momentary joystick control. Hit each joystick forward or back and the relays apply power to their appropriate motor in forward or reverse. If you have the gas pedal wide-open when you hit the joystick, the motor gets hit with full power, no soft start protection.

My question, will the potential surges of power when instant on/off connection to the motors are created by the relays damage anything? Other than the obvious motor and drivetrain...
