I can't remember the name of it. It was just west of where you cross over crab orchard on the north side of the RT. 13. He owned all the half trailer places back there. He had one just north of carbondale on the left hand side. Really big trailer park. Thats a nice trailer park. He also owned the trailer park on 37? South of Marion but north of lake of egypt. He owned a trailer park in metropolis, several homes in Vienna, metropolis, Cairo(yuck!), and duquion. He owned an apartment complex and trailer park in du quoin. I think he owns a strip club down there now in Desoto. Not JB's, the other one. He wanted to buy JB's but they wouldnt sell to him because he was an indian(from India)
you do know the area. cant remember the name of the other one right before desoto coming from carbondale, but the beer is cheap :D that was the last place i took the wife to for a romantic eveing before beans was born. real classy, i know! what can i say im a romantic.

You can get a pre filter which is essentially a foam sock which goes over the filter. Works just fine. Also some of the adaptors shown in the link to bmikart i sent you are extended and machined like a trumpet on the inside. A different length trumpet will change the torque curve in effect allowing your engine to make more power at lower rpm.

Oh and I don't really have any comment on the poor unfortunate who has to sell his stuff cheap because of a drug habit. It's just sad really.

i agree it is sad. I offered him a ride to the gas station cause he needed smokes so badly and he said no, which threw me off a bit but i really didnt care what he wanted to do with the money. I was just glad he was strong enough to lift the front of the kart onto the roof of my cherokee. getting it off solo wasnt fun either

remember kids, Hugs not Drugs!

oh and im gonna grab a prefilter like you mentioned and use it in the filter container im gonna try to custom fab using the ideas everyone gave me.

Yeah I can’t help but think it only takes a couple of stupid decisions in your twenties and it could be you or me.

I have an adaptor on my Honda clone with a K&N type filter with a pre-filter over the top and it works well. I used the pre-filter because I don’t think a K&N style filter is designed for offroad work. I wanted to do this with my original Briggs engine but I didn’t find the filter adapters until after I had replaced the motor. There isn’t much to clamp onto so you have to make up something like Fabroman did that uses the original screw or get an adapter with the three grub screws and use a K&N filter either will work.

Anyway all the best with the project.

I don't like the chances of this working as the piece on the top of the carb is only plastic (my daughters kart has the same carb) which will make clamping difficult (believe me, I've tried).

How's you fab skills beans? Your best bet is to make up something like mine

Fabroman I like  you jam tin air cleaner

Just judging by the picture…is this how the sale went down?

INT. AQUA TEEN’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – DAY

FRYLOCK floats into the room to see GO-KART in the corner. MEATWAD is sitting in the kart, pretending to drive, making motor noises and tire squealing. SHAKE is watching TV.

FRYLOCK
What is a go-kart doing in the living room!?

SHAKE
(focused on TV)
That’s Carl’s. I’m, ah, keeping it for him.

FRYLOCK
Now, I know Carl wouldn’t let you keep his go-kart. You need to get that thing out of here before it…

The doorbell RINGS. Frylock looks around at Shake absorbed in TV and Meatwad still pretending to drive.

SHAKE
Frylock could you get that? I’m expecting somebody.

Frylock rolls is eyes and floats over to the door, grumbling, and opens it. BEANSDADDY78 is standing there, his Jeep parked outside at the curb.

BEANSDADDY78
Hi, I’m here about the Craigslist ad?

Shake quickly shuffles over, escorts Beansdaddy78 in and slams the door.

SHAKE
Did you bring the thirty dollars?

FRYLOCK
Shake! I know you are not trying to sell Carl’s go-kart for thirty dollars!

MEATWAD
(off screen)
You’re not gonna sell my go-kart! I’m gonna cruise it to the mall and pick up some honeys…

Shake ushers Beansdaddy78 over to the kart.

SHAKE
Meatwad, no one ever picked up any honeys on a go-kart. Now, here’s the go-kart, give me your thirty dollars, quickly

MEATWAD
Aw, man!

FRYLOCK
No one is selling anyting!

BEANSDADDY78: Look if this is a bad time I can come ba-

SHAKE
Nonesense! Frylock, you’re holding this man up now just give me your thirty dollars!

There’s BEATING on the door.

CARL
(from outside)
Open up! I know you got my go-kaht in they-uh.

FRYLOCK
See? There’s Carl now. I’m just gonna let him in and we’ll straighten this whole thing out.

Shake boots Meatwad out of the go-kart and gets in. He pops a wheelie and tears around the living room

EXT. AQUA TEEN’S HOUSE – FRONT DOOR

Hairy neighbor CARL in sweat pants, sandals, wife beater and gold chain adamantly beats on the door.

CARL
(to himself)
Un-freakin-bu-lievable.

SHAKE on the go-kart CRASHES through the door and runs over Carl, killing him.

EXT. CARL’S HOUSE

Shake comes flying from his yard into Carl’s with Frylock and Meatwad chasing him.

MEATWAD
Shake come back here with my go-kart!

SHAKE crashes into Car’s swimming pool, instantly draining it in a tidal wave that sweeps Frylock and Meatwad away.

BEANSDADDY78 squeals away in his Jeep.

Yay I drive this hog for miles yesterday without a single problem.

Of course that was after several failed test runs and lots of pushing the kart home.

...But you got to a point where pushing was no longer necessary... That's a win in my book
thanks, im chalking it up as a win in mine too. i have also since made a mobile tool kit to take with me. usually i dont bring tools cause they always fall out of my pockets and i spend more time looking for them than test driving.

would you happen to know if this kart takes a certain type of gear since the axel is a hexagon shape ? i was gonna look into getting some different sprockets to increase acceleration.

it lacks power on the take off, takes me a bit to get going but once it does it flies. I am waiting for the rain to stop so i can take it to find its top speed

Without seeing the axle I can't say for sure but, you'll probably find the sprocket is bolted to a hub; figure out the bolt pattern & the centre hole size & you're halfway there.

Remember that by regearing for acceleration, you will lose some top speed

Yous right, I'm gonna order some sprockets in that size, this thing flies, takes a bit to get up to speed but my BRIGGS 5hp on my phoney race kart won't even catch up. Had my stepson ride it, he does weeigh a 100 lbs. Less than I do so maybe that plays a factor. We both had a great time, he's still in awe that I made them work, a few months ago I only had tools to install tile with and hadn't really done more than brakes and oil on My vehicles. I wanna thank everyone who helps me, none of the stuff would be as reliable as it is and it made me feel good that he was having an awesome time. Seemed like the gas pedal was linked to his smile too

Ooooh. A fellow tile setter (well, not really; I haven't done any in 3 years). Cool!

Happiness and gas pedals seem to go hand in hand.:D

Actually im also a former tile setter, i layed for 12 years but got out while i could still walk up right. Killed my knees and back. now i recently got certified to go work in the coal mines so i gotta score a job underground soon, i hope.

now im working on a straight pipe for the motor, i made a make shift one using a spare muffler i had lying around and cut it out and made a pipe fit in there but its too thin of a metal and it bent out leaving a gap so i doubt much air was making it down the straight pipe. im going to try again but gonna just use the muffler piece i cut out first as a stencil on a thicker piece of metal then im finally gonna try to weld something for the first time in a couple decades almost

Here is a couple of pictures of one i made for a Briggs. I've described how I made it in other forums already but just quickly here it is again
Cut the threaded end off the standard Briggs muffler now weld that to a piece of tube with an internal diameter of 3/4" and a length of about 14". That's it. You might want to weld a support tab on to support it in place and stop it coming loose.
