OUCH! I've been laid up for a dang week now on crutches.

So on the Fourth, some friends invited us to this party that is their 'once a year' blowout. They love the fourth, who can blame them.

Most of the day, the little bouncy house / water slide / and above ground pool were kid-zone. Late in the day, that trasitioned to Adult-Obstacle-Course!

First, you had to jump in the kiddie bouncy house that was transformed into the "shaving cream pit", slip out of it, run to the pool, get in while the other team was blasting you with water, find the greased watermelon, throw in a floating Hula Hoop, jump out, run over and make a successful bean-bag-toss in the hole, run up the water slide which was enormous, slide down, and tag your partner. 2 teams of about 15 people each.

Well, with all the greased watermelons I am surprised I was the only injury, but I jumped into that pool covered in shaving cream with a vengeance, and **** if I didn't smash the heck out of my right foot on the concrete bottom when I did.

As soon as I finished the course it started to creep in with the pain. Within about 5 minutes I couldn't walk! But, hey, our team won, what can you say about that, Team 1???

Anyway, so I have been on crutches since. Crutches are lame! Should be back to walking next week.

What say you? Anyone else been laid up for doing something dumb recently? :2guns:

Oh, wow! That looks kinda painful. Say... Was alcohol a factor? ;)

My wife got pretty bruised up recently when she rolled my modified lawn tractor, cornering up on 2 wheels. Me, I been pretty lucky for far...

Ouch. I haven't had any problems of late, but I had my side looking like your foot about two years ago when I nearly fell through the ceiling. I was in there fixing the satellite cable, and my one foot slid off the rafter I stood on. My leg went straight through the ceiling, and me falling square on another one across my chest. I even cracked a rib, so you can imagine the pain

Ouch, that looks painful; I remember the pain I was in with my ankle last year but, I'm not too sure a boot will help you with that; may be worth a try though, crutches suck...

I went up for a rebound playing basketball in high school......I came down on the side of my foot with my foot pretty much fully extended. ....it turned my foot completely sideways and my ankle hit the asphalt. .....I was playing outside with the brothers. .... ( only white guy allowed on the court....)

Anyway. ...was told by a couple of people. .. ( including the school nurse) that it was a bad sprain.....spent 6 years in cowboy boots. ...and the slightest misalignment resulted in pain.....it eventually got better. ...but I have a bone sticking out of place just below the skin on that foot....that had a "bad sprain".....ummmmm....yeah....sprain...broken ankle....what's the diff??????

Poboy that could have been a torn tendon as well.

I had it looked at, they gave me a boot and a 3 week timeline. Hope I'm better before that! I don't really see the boot helping. I'll donate it to somewhere when I'm better I guess.

Well re the boot, hopefully my insurance covers it. Won't know till later I guess. I will be ticked if I have to pay for it since I don't really think I need it anyway

off crutches! Though, a squirrel ate part of one of my tomatoes, then left it on the ground. So I threw it up in the tree at the squirrel, and dammit if I didn't aggravate my rotator cuff injury I got year ago. DOH DOH DOH!!!!

Yeah those jerk squirrels just sit there staring at you. I hoped I could've scared the crap out of it at least. I will prevail, though.
