Old kart, new user

So I found this old frame at a yard sale for $25. I bought it, added the necessities to make it go. My children love it. However, the tires I chose are terrible...because I don't know any better. Which is why I am here. The tires on there now are the kind that go on a hand truck or similar item. When you are easy on the gas, all is well. When you start spinning, the wheel spins inside the tire breaking the valve stem and you have a flat. What kind of tires and wheels do I need to be running to not have this happen?

Currently it's a single wheel drive. I am hoping to change it to a live axle very soon.

Hi, I'm new here as well. I had similar questions about tires and wheels. I believe most fixed axles use a 5/8th bearing. Something like the wheel in the link. Click Here

I just purchased three of those. Chancer, pointed those out to me when I had questions about wheels.

I'm sure someone will be able to verify that for sure. Lot's of great info on this site. I've learned a ton using the search bar and typing in keywords.

Post some pictures of your cart. That will help a ton and probably help get you more replies.

I will get some pictures tonight and upload. Im about to drill some holes in the tire and rim and bolt the darn thing together so it wont spin.

Welcome to the forum. Let me be the first to tell you what you already know. Dolly tires are unsafe unreliable and no good for Go Karts. Don't waste your time and energy bolting the wheels to the tires. Post some pics of the Kart and we will help you find good wheels and tires.

I did try the bolting-the-tire-to-the-rim idea. It works for some yard fun anyway.

I wanna convert this to a live axle and hopefully you guys can tell me what tires to use so that they dont spin off the rim.
